Can I use StatShare and search your database for athletes or team statistics without having to pay for the service?[ top ]

Yes, you can use our website anytime after signing up for our FREE StatShare.com membership with no further cost or obligation. Any athlete with a personal profile will be searchable by you. You will be able to search for an athlete using specific search criteria (ie. Left-Handed pitcher with an ERA of 2.0 or less- or a Right-Handed QB averaging at least 150 yards passing per game etc.)

How do I keep track of the athletes that I am interested in following on your site?[ top ]

Once you have signed up for our FREE StatShare.com membership and set up your personal administrative page, you will be able to subscribe to those athletes that you are interested in following. Each time an athlete that you are tracking has their individual stats updated, you will be notified by email of the update(s).

Do I need a special computer or software package to use StatShare.com?[ top ]

NO! One of the great things about StatShare is that anyone can use the site from anywhere. Whether you are a coach wanting to use StatShare as your statistical resource, a college recruiter wanting to locate and track athletes that will help your program, an athlete wanting to share your stats and information with others, a member of the media desiring to gather information about local teams and athletes that you are covering, or just an interested fan wanting to search for specific athletes and/or teams, nothing will be needed except access to the internet. There is nothing to purchase and no special equipment needed.

I am an athlete. Why should I create my own personal profile?[ top ]

Because this is the only way that your individual information and stats will be available to be searched. For example, if a college recruiter or member of the media is searching for an athlete that meets their criteria, they will search from a database of athletes that have personal profiles. In order to be in this national database of athletes that is used for these advanced searches (ie. Height, Weight, FG %, PPG, etc.), you must have a personal profile.

Who will have access to my personal profile on StatShare.com?[ top ]

Anyone who visits StatShare.com will be able to find your personal profile by searching our database. However, only those visitors (college recruiters, Fans, etc.) who JOIN StatShare.com for FREE will be able to contact you through the website and take advantage of the unique services that StatShare.com offers the athletic community. The Media will not have access to this option.

What is the "contact player" button?[ top ]

The contact player button is on the athlete's personal profile page. This button allows anyone that finds your page (recruiters, fans, loved ones etc.) to contact you through StatShare.com. Any messages that are left for you will be waiting for you the very next time that you log into your personal profile page. This is a great way for loved ones that visit your personal profile page to congratulate you on a job well done, or to have a college coach let you know that he is impressed with your performance!

Can I choose what is displayed on my personal page?[ top ]

Absolutely! Your privacy is a major concern of StatShare.com! You can choose to keep your personal page private allowing only visitors with your username to have access. You can choose how much of your information is viewable during your account setup. Keep in mind though, that if you choose to keep your personal StatShare page private, you will not be searchable to college coaches.

I am an athlete and want to create a personal profile page. Once a college coach searches and finds my information and/or stats, how can he/she contact me?[ top ]

By searching and finding you at StatShare.com, the coach will then be able to go to your personal profile page and be able to communicate with you through our unique “contact player� button. This will enable an email to be sent to you directly from your personal page. Of course, once you are located by a recruiter, conventional communication methods are a possibility as well.

What happens if I enhance or fabricate my stats?[ top ]

If it is found that you have enhanced your stats, your account will be terminated without refund. Honesty and integrity are important at StatShare.com!

What if I play more than one sport?[ top ]

With an "Unlimited Account" StatShare.com allows you to enter and share your stats for as many sports as you wish.

But my coach has already entered my team at StatShare.com and is using it as his/her resource to keep my team’s statistics. Should I still create my own personal profile?[ top ]

Yes! In order to be included in the database that is used when college recruiters or members of the media are looking for specific information (ie. Player with a great 3pt FG %, batting average etc.), you must have a personal profile – see #10.

If my coach has not registered my team at StatShare.com, can I still take advantage of this great site?[ top ]

Absolutely! However, because the services at StatShare.com that are available to your school and coach are FREE and easy to use, you should encourage them to use this site as their statistical resource. Even if they choose not to use StatShare, you may set up your very own personal profile page. This page will give you the ability to share as little or as much information (picture, stats, other information etc.) as you wish with users of the site (college recruiters, Media, etc.). In this case, you will keep track of your own stats. If your coach then registers your team at a later date, the stats that he/she enters will be the numbers that begin to show up in the statistical portion of your personal page, however, ALL of the other information will be controlled solely by YOU (and your parents).

How do I add/delete a sport?[ top ]

Click on "my account"
Select a sport from "add a sport / delete a sport" at the bottom
Click on add/delete sport

Is there a "KEY" to let me know what the abbreviations stand for?[ top ]

Simply put the cursor on the abbreviation and it will tell you what it stands for

Click on your team name
Click on "enter statistics"
